Emmanuel Macron, the President of the French Republic, visited Doha on December 4, 2021. He was received by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, reinforcing once again the long and deeply rooted friendship and cooperation between the two countries in both political and economic matters.
During the visit, the President of the French Republic and His Highness the Emir called for the further strengthening of the economic relations between the two countries, as many French and Qatari companies have already established long-term partnerships in key sectors.
The Heads of State raised new business topics such as public-private partnerships to finance projects in areas such as innovation, energy transition and sustainable development or strengthening the institutional cooperation in the agricultural sector. These discussions are more than ever relevant both for the State of Qatar and France, moving forward the economic diversification objectives set by Qatar's Vision 2030 in synergy with the France 2030 economic plan.
Several economic personalities, including distinguished members of Qadran such as Airbus, Safran, Total Air, Liquide and Thales accompanied the President of the French Republic during this official visit. The delegation resulted in a 300 million euros of business contracts signed between the two countries, under the guidance of Bpifrance and the Sovereign Fund QIA (Qatar Investment Authority), thus launching the second phase of their Future French Champions partnership.
The Franco-Qatari Economic Circle Qadran welcomes the outcome of the discussions as a clear message of strengthening the economic relationship between France and Qatar.
