After the success of its first economic mission to Qatar, Qadran set up its second roadshow in Doha, on September 26th, in partnership with Medef International. Led by His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State Qatar in France and thanks to his support, Qadran had the honor of meeting with several high level representatives from the Qatari government.
His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani met and discussed several bilateral economic relations topics and further discussion on enhancing new ways of investment in field of trade between Qatar and France.
As Qatar is fast-tracking efforts to open up its economy further as part of strategies to cement its position as an ideal destination for business and investment, French CEOs attended a meeting with His Excellency Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance. The minister pointed out that the trade exchange between Qatar and France has played an important role in strengthening economic and trade relations, as the volume of bilateral trade amounted to $1.36bn in 2020.
The day continued with a meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie where they had an open discussion on the ways to enhance the bilateral dialogue especially related to agriculture, food security, environment, climate change, municipal work, and the pioneering projects that Qatar is witnessing in all fields.
Then, the delegation met with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), represented by its assistant undersecretary of Digital Society Development, Reem Mohamed al-Mansoori and the acting Assistant undersecretary of Government Information Technology, Mashael Ali al-Hammadi, met with French representatives to discuss co-operation in the fields of transportation and ICT between Qatar and France.
Furthermore His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber Hosting the French CEOs to review commercial and investment relations between Qatar and France and the possibility of establishing new commercial alliances.
The visit ended with a visit to meet His Excellency Ahmed Mohamed Al Sayed, Minister of State and Chairman of Qatar Free Zones who have welcomed the delegation with a presentation and a tour of the location of Qatar free zones the delegation had the chance to explore the area of Qatar Free Zone.
