A high-level French business delegation led by Qadran visited Doha on Nov 2-4, to further strengthen the Franco-Qatari economic relationship.

At the invitation of H.E. the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani and Ms Natalie Demol, President of Qadran and Legal Director Europe & Americas of Katara Hospitality, the delegation gathered four French business leaders: Mr Arnaud Piéton, CEO of Technip Energies, Ms. Hiba Farès, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of RATP Dev, Ms. Laurence Broseta, CEO International of Keolis and Mr Jean-Baptiste Pietri, CEO of Constructa.

The delegation was received by the H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and was also welcomed by H.E. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance, H. E. Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Qatar Rail, H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya, Minister of Municipality) and H.E. Mr. Mansoor Ebrahim Al-Mahmoud, Chief Executive Officer of QIA.

Meetings focused on economic priorities and investment opportunities in the framework of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and France 2030. Discussions also revolved about French companies’ activities and projects in the country.

Qatari authorities reaffirmed their confidence to French companies, which, highlighting transversal expertise, have the necessary market practice to accompany Qatar's development and economic diversification projects. They also expressed their support and gratitude towards Qadran for its significant contribution over the past 10 years to dynamize the bilateral economic relationship between France and Qatar.

This visit was also the occasion to discuss opportunities to develop innovative technologies and solutions for priority sectors in Qatarin particular in the field of artificial intelligence, environmental change, such as global warming and food waste, and also in energy, urban transports, and real estate sectors.

A business lunch attended by representatives from Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Qatar Businessmen Association, Women business leaders, and the Chairman of Qatar Tourism, H.E. Mr. Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji, and also by local representatives of French companies - Mr Mansur Zhakupov, Qatar Country Chair of TotalEnergies and Fabrice de Bodard, CEO of Thales Qatar - allowed fruitful and friendly exchanges between both business communities.

The delegation also discovered some of Doha's finest cultural venues, such as M7, Qatar's epicentre for innovation and entrepreneurship in design, fashion and tech, with the visit of Chaumet & Nature and Ellsworth Kelly at 100 exhibitions.

This successful visit marked a significant step forward, reinforcing mutual confidence and commitment to our longstanding economic partnership, and exploring further prospects for economic collaboration.
